Magnolia bark is a traditional Chinese medicine used to treat menstrual cramps, abdominal pain, abdominal bloating and gas, anxiety, asthma, coughs, colds, diarrhoea, indigestion, intestinal problems, nausea. It has also been indicated for Alzheimer's disease and is currently getting much press as a "cortisol", a stress hormone-lowering supplement. Cortisol has also been associated with weight loss (particularly fat in the abdominal area) and helping with sugar control problems, memory problems, and a host of other stress induced disorders.
